Whether you are a beginner, or someone who is seeking to develop their artistic skills in a supportive, creative environment, you will find our classes rewarding and enjoyable. Tuition is geared to ensuring that you achieve your individual goals, and get the most out of each session. For this reason, classes are kept small enough to guarantee personalised support.
"Having been an amateur graphite artist for 20yrs I decided when I retired to broaden my skills and enrolled on Diane’s pastel course. I have really enjoyed going to the class, it’s friendly and informal but I have learned so much about pastel and it’s application from watching Diane’s demo’s and also from individual help. Diane provides reference photos to work from and some of these have really pushed me out of my comfort zone, however she is equally happy to work with you on your own projects.
Portraiture still remains my subject of choice but with Diane’s guidance now I can do it in pastel!"
"I have personally known Diane for many years, not only as a wonderful artist, but she has become a great friend. I am Secretary of the Hinckley and District Society of Arts of which she has become a very important part. She attends our DYOT (do your own thing) meetings on a regular basis and is always on hand to offer advice to members in all forms of drawing and painting. She does this with her genuine easy sense of humour. I have attended her Pastel classes for several years and she has not only taught me many things, but has often taken me to a wider spectrum to experiment with different ways of using pastels and papers. I would recommend anyone taking up not only pastels but any course that Diane is running to have a go, she will inspire and guide you in her friendly and amusing manner."
"Anyone who would like to learn and understand, how to draw, paint with acrylics, watercolour and pen and ink, then enroll in Diane’s class, relax, have fun and above all enjoy 2 hours of expert tuition by Diane who also has a great sense of humour, and you get a lovely cup of coffee!!"
"I started pastel class last year and Diane was an enthusiastic teacher, providing great instruction with patience and encouragement. We painted a wide range of subjects and the classes were always fun. I’m now a converted pastellist and am signed up for the next term."
As a professional artist, tutoring and running workshops gives Diane the opportunity to share her skills and experience and aims to build confidence and ability in the artists who join her workshops.
She is an award winning artist and her work has been purchased by collectors worldwide. She exhibits widely and encouraged artist who attend her classes to do the same.
